Home Industry Tourism UK-UAE travel: Emirates to start third flight to London Gatwick to meet demand The third daily flight will help serve high demand from customers travelling to and from London this summer by Zubina Ahmed July 23, 2022 Dubai-based Emirates Airline took to Twitter to announce they will increase the frequency of its services to and from London Gatwick airport with the addition of a third daily flight, effective July 27 until August 3. As per the recent tweet,”This third daily flight will help serve high demand from customers travelling to and from London this summer. It will also provide additional seats to accommodate Emirates passengers affected by capacity adjustments on flights from London Heathrow, which will be made to help ease operational pressures at the airport.” The statement added that, “Emirates’ customers impacted by capacity adjustments at London Heathrow will be contacted directly by the airline or their travel agent. The airline is working closely with its travel partners to re-accommodate any impacted bookings and ensure smooth onward flight connections for customers to reach their planned destination.” In response to high demand, and to help passengers affected by flight changes at London Heathrow, we’re adding a third daily between @DXB and @Gatwick_airport from 27 July until 3 August. https://t.co/02WrCbydsm pic.twitter.com/yyxXf5xvHG — Emirates Airline (@emirates) July 22, 2022 The airline confirmed that “additional daily flight to London Gatwick will be operated by a wide-body Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft offering seats in First, Business and Economy class.” The airline also said it would continue to operate its six daily flights to and from London Heathrow during this period, and its planned re-start of daily services to London Stansted would commence on August 1. Earlier, the airline had also come out with another official statement stating that “until further notice, Emirates plans to operate as scheduled to and from London Heathrow Airport (LHR). On July 14, Emirates had rejected London Heathrow Airport’s request to airlines to stop selling tickets for summer departures after the airport announced on July 12 that it had capped the number of passengers flying from the hub at 100,000 a day in a bid to avoid long queues, baggage delays and cancellations.
