Restaurant Review: Festive celebration awaits at Fi’lia

Termed as the first fully female-led Italian Mediterranean restaurant in Dubai, Fi’lia stands out in more ways than one. A vibrant spot to fuse tradition and modern on the 70th floor of the SLS Dubai, it has views, impeccable service, value for money and excellent food.

Fi’lia invites guests to experience carefully curated festive menus during the most wonderful time of the year. With an Italian-inspired Christmas menu, including authentic 25-kilo Panettone and live entertainment, guests can enjoy the ultimate festive experience at Fi’lia. Featuring an incredible terrace from the 70th floor of SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences that overlooks the Dubai skyline, the restaurant is an ideal setting for winter dining.

Christmas Day Brunch

Families and friends can celebrate with a lively Christmas brunch on Christmas Day at Fi’lia. With melodious live DJ and singer adding to the celebratory mood, diners can experience a traditional sharing-style menu accompanied by seasonal cocktails, and live entertainment. Santa Claus will delight children by making a special appearance at the restaurant to bring them gifts and festive cheer.

Christmas Eve

For a festive experience that will be remembered for years to come, Chef Sara Aqel has crafted an Italian Christmas menu. This Indulgent three-course set menu combines traditional Italian and Roman cuisine with elegant interiors and an inviting atmosphere at the award-winning Fi’lia. The meal begins with four delicious starters: Carcofi Alla Romana, Cavolo Tropicale, Fegato, Baccata Montecare, and Calamari.

To stay true to their Italian roots, the main courses include Quattro Formaggi Pizza and Saffron Risotto. As part of the Christmas tradition, the roast turkey is served with roasted potatoes, grilled asparagus, and turkey sauce. Panettone, which weighs 25 kilogrammes, is included in the dessert and is served with rich chocolate, strawberry, mascarpone sauces, along with almond and pistachio toppings. Guests will be able to sing along to the live singer renditions of Christmas classics.

New Year’s Celebration 70 Floors Up

A grand dinner welcomes in the New Year, with a stunning menu to match the views. Two seatings are available, one for the early birds and the other for those ready for a remarkable night of Burj Khalifa’s famous New Year’s Eve fireworks and free-flowing beverages to toast to 2023.

World-class culinary delights created as an ode to hearty Italian dishes await on the special New Year’s menu. Both seatings will enjoy the freshness of the Homemade Focaccia, an absolute delight, with a selection of Salumi, Pesto, Tapenade, Panelle, and Arancini.

The splendour of flavours continues with the Cozze e Vongole, mussels, and clams, cooked in garlic, to the Steak Tartare, with Robiola cream and caramelised pecan nuts. The Truffle Pizza, Lemon Risotto, and the Charcoal Grilled Steak with roasted garlic, and baked Mediterranean potatoes are a rich medley, but second-seating guests will indulge further with the Gnocchi & Caviar, with rosemary butter. Second-seating guests will ring in the New Year with an additional dessert of Lemon and Olive Oil, but Fi’lia’s very own Giant Ferrero Rocher with 24k gold is the ultimate ending to send off 2022 and welcome 2023.

The evening is filled with exciting entertainment activities. A renowned and breathtaking ensemble of masquerade dancers and a live jazz band will serenade the guests with exciting performances.  With a specially curated menu of unique Italian flavours overlooking Dubai’s glittering skyline, charismatic jazz singers and masquerade dancers, you’ll be entertained throughout the evening at this award-winning restaurant.
