Home Industry Manufacturing UAE’s Ducab Group expands its footprint in India, opens office in Bengaluru Over the years, Ducab has supplied over 1,428 kilometres of cables to the Indian market, which is equivalent to the distance between Delhi and Mumbai by Gulf Business February 10, 2023 Ducab Group, the UAE-based end-to-end solutions provider and manufacturing firm, has expanded its presence in India, with the opening of a new office in Bengaluru, which is in the Indian state of Karnataka. Ducab’s first office in India and Southeast Asia, will boost the group’s operations and presence in the region, and support the company’s overall growth strategy. Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade, who was present at the opening of the new office, said: “The UAE and India share common interests, and both have the resources and capabilities to enhance industrial manufacturing. Furthermore, Ducab serves more than 100 clients in India, providing 263,000 metric tons of Cu-eq (copper equivalent), equivalent to powering 3 million houses. The group also employs more than 1,000 Indian nationals, directly impacting 10,000 families. The opening of the group’s new office in Bengaluru is another example of the significant commercial and international cooperation between the two countries.” “This is an opportunity for us to explore new prospects in the Indian industrial sector, as well as to benefit from the new advantages under the trade agreement the two countries signed in February 2022, and build on the existing achievements and close ties that bind Ducab to the Indian market. It is an extension of the company’s ambitions and strategies, which is currently expanding its business in 55 markets around the world, where it exports 60 per cent of its products,” he said. The group commenced operations in India over three decades ago, in 1988, when cables were supplied to Nhava Shiva Port (Mumbai Port). Over the years, Ducab has supplied over 1,428 kilometres of cables to the Indian market, which is equivalent to the distance between Delhi and Mumbai. Ducab will produce low-voltage and medium-voltage cables to power Borouge 4 using Borouge’s energy solutions, while UPI will use Borouge’s ‘Made in UAE’ solutions to produce pressure pipes for the cooling and public sanitation system of Borouge 4. Mohammad Almutawa, group CEO of Ducab, said on the occasion: “Building strategic partnerships with national champions in the industrial sector is aligned with the goal of the Operation 300bn initiative, creates in-country value and boosts economic competitiveness.
