Cinépolis Cinemas has opened its first Luxury Cinemas concept in Oman, located at the Oman Avenues Mall in Muscat.

It includes four VIP auditoriums with dedicated entrances, and grants moviegoers access to a plush lobby area prior before they can enter their respective auditoriums.

Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas offers guests the option to watch their movies from their Recliner leather seats with adjustable tables. They can also select Lounger seats which are even more spacious and offer added privacy.

The menu selection at Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas boasts a wide array of items. Guests will have the opportunity to select their movie snacks from the lobby or by requesting an attendant to take their order from their seat itself. Customers can also pre-order their snacks when booking their tickets on the website or via the app.

Cinépolis Cinemas multiplex is located close the Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas. The complex includes formats such as Junior Auditorium featuring a jungle gym, complete with slide and ball pit.

The Cinépolis Cinemas also has state-of-the-art 4D E-motion experience. The immersive theatre format allows attendees to watch their film while seated on motion seats and with special effects such as wind, water, seat vibration, smell and air shots synchronised with the action on the screen.

The cinema also boasts one Macro XE auditorium, complete with Dolby Atmos surround sound audio speakers located throughout each of the venue’s premium auditoriums. The Deluxe or Premium seat options all enjoy an uninterrupted view of the screen with rocking leather chairs available. The screen is reportedly triple the size of an ordinary cinema screen.

As per the regulations in Muscat, all auditoriums are operating at a 50 per cent of their capacity to ensure ample physical distancing.

Cinépolis has created a joint venture with the Dubai-based Al Tayer to build and operate cinemas across the GCC region. In the GCC, the international chain opened its first cinema in Bahrain in January 2019, followed by three in Oman that same year, one in the UAE and two in Saudi Arabia.

In Saudi Arabia, Al Tayer Group and Cinépolis have partnered with Al Hokair Group to set up movie theaters in 15 major cities across the country.

Cinépolis Cinemas also recently partnered with Dubai-based Motivate Val Morgan, with the latter appointed as the the exclusive cinema advertising sales partner for the Mexican-headquartered and third largest cinema exhibitor in the world across all of its cinemas in the Middle East.
